A variety of sources of funding are available for sustainable land management (SLM). Traditionally these include resources originating either from domestic budgets (i.e. central government and decentralised authorities) or external sources (i.e. Official Development Assistance - ODA).
Increasingly however, private and semi-private sources, including foundations, private corporations and international civil society organisations are emerging as additional sources of financing SLM.
The Finance Info Kit is a directory outlining financial sources, mechanisms and funds relevant for SLM. It is intended to be an information kit for country parties, civil society and other partners that are engaged in fighting land degradation and promoting sustainable land use practices and who may need directions towards where the funding opportunities are.
