Recruitment : field coordinator for an impact evaluation of a rural land administration program in Benin (World Bank)

The World Bank is seeking a field coordinator for an impact evaluation of a rural land administration program in Benin, West Africa. The consultant will coordinate data collection activities (e.g., oversee survey teams, liaise with the Government, assist in questionnaire design) and conduct statistical analysis of household data. The position will be based in Cotonou, Benin, with frequent visits to rural project areas. The contract, which will begin in early 2010, will last six months to a year.

An excellent command of written and spoken French and English is essential for this position. The ideal candidate will be a Masters-level graduate with training in econometrics or a PhD student who has completed her/his coursework. The candidate should possess strong problem-solving and organizational skills and have experience with household data analysis. Candidates with knowledge of rural land issues in developing countries and impact evaluation methods are strongly preferred. Relevant West African and/or household data collection experience is also preferred.
