Agriculture is indeed the second largest pan-African institution’s priorities and it is in this context that the 2017 edition of the Annual Meetings of the ADB to be held in Ahmedabad, India from 22 to 26 May, was placed under the theme: "Transforming agriculture for creating wealth in Africa."

No region of the world has never industrialized without transforming its agricultural sector. For African economies, agriculture - which accounts for 16.2% of the continent’s GDP and provides employment to more than 60% of its population - is key to accelerating growth, diversification and creation jobs.
