The main objective of the workshop is to share the conclusions of the second evaluation of the CNS in their process of maturation in CRE, discuss pending issues and agree on next steps.
The workshop will include plenary sessions and a country group session. The plenary sessions will consist of a presentation of the conclusions of the evaluation; feedback from country-group work on the revision of action plans and discussions on pending issues such as the implementation of the cluster concept of research institutions, learning institutions, analytical laboratories, extension services ; the institutional arrangement. The exchanges between the participants will make it possible to agree on suitable mechanisms to support the CNS-CRE.
The expected results of the workshop are:
The workshop participants are informed of the degree of maturation of each NSC and the remaining challenges to be met;
The participants agreed on the form of support to be given to the SNCs who have met the accreditation criteria in the Regional Center of Excellence;
A roadmap is defined for the accreditation process in CRE of the ECOWAS;
Revised action plans produced by the NSCs that have not yet met the maturation criteria in the Regional Center of Excellence.
The workshop is proposed to be held from 5 to 7 April 2018 in Saly, Senegal
